Lifestyle Hacks—How to Power Up Your Game
The Power of Intention: Dreaming Your Dream Alive
What unfulfilled desires are gathering dust in the storage shed of your heart?
When was the last time you pulled them out, dusted them off, and let them breathe in the sunlight?
The Power of Intention is the shift from being a passive passenger in your own life to occupying the driver’s seat and taking the wheel with purpose. It’s what harnesses your inner resources and channels your energy toward a preferred direction—your heart’s desire.
If you’re already living the dream life you’ve always wanted, you can stop reading right here.
If not… buckle up. We’re going for a ride.
Step 1 — Name Your Desires
Write down your top three unfulfilled desires.
Here were mine from 2018:
If I’m honest, #3 should have been #1. But at the time, I was living elbow-to-elbow with two big Golden Retrievers, two businesses, and furniture that filled a 1600 square-foot house—cherished antiques inherited from my grandmother—crammed into an 800-square-foot rental.
Lesson: When you choose your #1 heart’s desire, be radically honest with yourself.
Step 2 — Know Where You’re Starting From
Get clear on your present reality.
Here was mine:
That last part? It was the nudge I needed.
Truth: Barriers that seem impossible often aren’t. When you set your intention, you don’t have to know how it will happen. You just have to live as if it’s already on its way and put yourself in position to catch it when it arrives.
Step 3 — Charge Your Intention
Intention is like a battery—it only works when it’s charged. Here’s how:
My 2018 affirmation:
“I’m so grateful to own a home in Midtown Tulsa that comfortably houses both of my businesses, with a large fenced yard for my dogs.”
Caution: If you emotionally fuel fear-based imagined scenarios, those can manifest too. Clarity of focus is essential.
Step 4 — Position Yourself for the Catch
List steps you can take now to make your dream possible. For example:
Also, prepare as if it’s imminent:
By doing this, you’re training yourself to be ready for the moment opportunity arrives.
Step 5 — Immerse Yourself in the Dream
Spend time in the energy of your desired outcome:
Keep feeding that momentum.
How My Story Ended
Within six months—and against all odds (single, self-employed, no big savings)—I moved into my own 1,600-square-foot brick home in Midtown Tulsa with a large fenced backyard for my dogs with an unplanned bonus—a real fireplace to warm my feet.
My practice grew, and I was able to afford beautiful upgrades—new windows, lighting, even a backup generator.
As for my third dream—living a fuller Spirit-led life—that journey continues. It’s led me into four years of deep study with earth-based shamans, further enriching both my personal and professional paths.
Your Turn
Do this—and watch how quickly your life starts to shift.
